📘 Product Overview — What is an EDFA optical amplifier?
EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) is This is an optical-optical amplification device that injects pump light (excitation light) into a special optical fiber with a trace amount of erbium element added, activates the erbium atoms into a high energy state, and then generates stimulated emission while the input signal light passes through this optical fiber, directly amplifying the signal light.
Kyungin Telecom's KI-EDFA series uses a 980nm high-reliability pump laser diode to amplify optical signals as they are without converting them into electrical signals, thereby compensating for signal loss and maintaining stable output in all environments requiring long-distance optical signal transmission, such as CATV, HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax), FTTH, and intra-premises optical transmission networks.
